The officers of The Bays with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, later the Queen Mother, 18 September 1941.

Sandhurst. The pre-war Royal Military College became an OCTU (Officer Cadet Training Unit) for the Royal Armoured Corps during the war and it was there that I reported for training as an officer in 1941.

The Bays team which won the Inter-Regimental Polo Tournament at Hurlingham in 1931. From left to right: George Fanshawe, Evelyn Fanshawe, Alex Barclay and Tom Draffen, all subsequently Commanding Officers of the regiment. The two last-named were my first two Commanding Officers.
